21st Century Experience As a Student

I am Carl Vencent Vergara from BSED English 2B. My experience as a student has been like a roller coaster. There were many times I doubted if I had a future in education.

21st Century Education is not easy for someone like me who didn’t have access to modern technology in high school. I had to catch up. I struggled with basic tools others already knew how to use.

But times have changed, and so must we. I started learning how to use digital platforms for classwork, communication, and research. I adapted slowly, but I made progress.

This experience taught me to accept change, even when it feels uncomfortable. I learned to be open to new tools and methods, no matter how unfamiliar they were. Most of all, I realized the importance of continuing, even when things seem unfair.

I now understand that 21st Century Education is not just about technology. It's about how we respond to change, stay curious, and never give up.

Observed in a Teacher, Classroom, or School.

I observed that both teachers and students actively used technology in the classroom. Lessons were presented using digital tools, and students completed tasks with the help of their devices.

I noticed that the workload of both the teacher and the students became lighter because of productivity tools. Tasks like checking, submitting, and organizing classwork were faster and more efficient. The teacher spent less time on manual work and more time guiding the students.

This showed that 21st Century Education is not just about having access to technology. It’s about using tools that support learning, improve productivity, and make teaching and studying more manageable for everyone.

Seen online platforms or media

I have seen many examples of 21st Century Education through online platforms and media. Educational content on YouTube, Facebook groups, and learning apps like Google Classroom and Quizlet help both students and teachers.

These platforms provide free access to lessons, quizzes, and tutorials. Students can learn at their own pace. Teachers can give feedback faster and manage their classes more easily. I also noticed how online tools help in group projects, communication, and sharing resources.

This shows that education today is not limited to classrooms. Learning can happen anywhere, anytime, with the help of online platforms that support interaction, flexibility, and access to information.

Imagine doing in your own Future Classroom as a Teacher.

In my future classroom, I want to combine 21st Century tools with the value of books. The classroom will be clean, organized, and filled with reading materials that support independent learning. When students have free time, they can read books to build their vocabulary and improve their thinking.

I will use technology for presentations, research, and collaboration. At the same time, I will make sure books are still part of daily learning. I believe students should learn how to balance both sources to find reliable information and think critically.

One 21st Century skill my classroom will support is information literacy. I want students to know how to analyze, compare, and understand ideas from both digital tools and printed texts. That way, they will not depend only on one source but grow as well-rounded learners.
