Some people know what they want to do at a young age and others may struggle with this decision well into adulthood. This is alright and perfectly normal because for some people, figuring out what they want to do with their life and gaining independence can take time.

Although finding yourself as an adult is hard, some people have more difficulties than others. Many of us have the support and help from our friends and family, but there are young adults that have no family to help them, they have to put themselves through school and struggle to find a place to live.

The teenage years are when teens can have fun, find themselves and have the support of their families. However in some countries, girls are arranged in marriages, parents are forced to give up their children and boys are sent off to war at young ages. This results in a loss of childhood and of innocence for these children and teenagers.

This stage of life can either be a wonderful or a very difficult one. Many of us think of retirement as a relaxing period where we can do things weve always wanted to do and to spend time with grandkids. This is not always the case as there are people that struggle to get by, who do not have kids, grandkids or any family left.

It is clear that in the Obama family, the girls are raised to be smart, strong and independent. However, this is not always the case. In countries such as Afghanistan, women are unable to go to school, have opinions of their own and are considered possessions of men.

Sometimes people are judged for not getting married and settling down. This can be because that person has not found "the one" or simply because marriage is not for them. They may have other priorities in their life such as their career or traveling etc...It is also possible that they choose to get married later, in a later stage of life.

One of the elements of adulthood is going out into the world on your own. An example of this is going away for university. Many choose to remain at home and stay close to their families. However there are also many students that leave their cities or even countries to pursue their future. This can be very difficult, but many lessons are learned and independence is necessary.

Kids with gay parents will experience as much love as other kids, they will simply have either two dads or two moms.

Families can come in many different shapes and forms. They can be blended through separate marriages or by adoption. Whatever way kids are brought into a family, they are all equals.

Couples can have kids in many different ways. There will also be families with blended races. This is perfectly normal however some have more difficulty accepting this than others. Children of biracial couples may unfortunately hear cruel racial slurs and that they are unlike normal families.

Raising a teenager is a difficult task. However it can become even more difficult if a marriage begins to fall apart and only a single parent is present. The parents in this stage may also turn into grandparents by way of occasional teen pregnancy. This results in the skipping over of several stages.

Many seniors end their lives sad and alone if they do not have much family. This is contrary to those that are surrounded by family and loved ones in their old age.

When two people join their lives together, there are many aspects of themselves that must be discussed. If spouses are from different cultures and religions, they must agree upon a healthy representation of both, assuming they want to integrate both cultures into their lives. This can be done by having a wedding ceremony that showcases the rituals and traditions of both parties as well as discussing if possible children will learn multiple languages, traditions etc...This would not be the case if a couple comes from the same culture and practice the same religion.
