The Xia Dynasty was founded by Yu the Great and when he got control of it, it grew in power, which made the Dynasty last 45 years. Yu had made a name for himself by building canals to help control the flooding of the Yellow River.
 
Major events, accomplishments, or legacies: 

  •  When Yu died, his son, Qi took over as king. The descendants of Yu the Great would rule for almost the next 500 years.
  • The Xia dynasty began when the kingdom began to pass the kingdom down to a relative, most likely father to son. 
  • The Xia Dynasty created the calendar, known as the Chinese Calander. 

What if the King of the Kingdom, gave it to the daughter instead?

  • The Shang dynasty created the invention of writing 
  • They also created the advancement of bronze tech and the use of the chariot and to use bronze weapons in the war

The Zhou people were in the far western part of the Yellow river, present-day: Shaanxi Province. The Zhou people conquered the Shang Dynasty around the time 1500 BCE and created their own Dynasty with a series of rulers from single families. Although they conquered the Shang Dynasty, They shared many cultural similarities with the Shang. 
 
Major events, accomplishments, or legacies: 

  • The Zhou Dynasty ruled Ancient China from 1045 BC to 256 BC. It was the longest ruling dynasty in the history of China.
  • iron, ox-drawn plows, crossbows, and horseback riding were all introduced
  • large-scale irrigation and water-control projects were also instituted for the first time
