The Elizabethan Age took place from 1558 to 1603. This was a time when England was experiencing peace so the arts could prosper. It is called the Elizabethan Age after Queen Elizabeth I who ruled England at the time.

The first stock exchange in England happened in 1565 during the Elizabethan Age.

If people got sick or injured, a lot of the cures were natural remedies. For example, soaking bread in milk and herbs could be used to heal a bad cut.

Most people did not bathe very often. They washed their hands and faces but did not do very much beyond that.

People believed in witches. They tested to see if a woman was a witch by throwing the suspect into water with her arms and legs tied up and if she escaped they were a witch.
