Elizabeth, Eileen, Helena, and Hannah, your team’s discovery that Amy from Florida (a shock to be in MI despite the current situation) is seeking ways to feel connected to others in her major really helped your design team hone in on a design in specific ways, but that could have broad applications to others.  I love the pen pal idea for so many reasons - it suggests a one-on-one connection, it emphasizes sharing with another person in a manner that feels right (notice that I resisted the pun “write”) to the people involved, and harkens back to a time when people actually communicated in ways that did not prioritizes speed and convenience.  Pen paling suggests taking time and care with one’s communication.  I also love that it could be a snail mail experience - imagine getting a handwritten letter these days! Something so personal but that happens so very rarely these days.  It is a nod to our need to slow down the speed at which we are living to let relationships grow. Well done!

Katie - Quests for Bold Questions: How can I incorporate art into my classroom - you have really showed HOW this can be done! R- retain the right to play - the sheer breadth of ideas indicates that you are providing access to many children.  W - why and why not add art because it makes you wise

Hanna A- Playmakers take time to Try: you have such a large collection of different mediums that you’ve tried and it is reallycool to have them all in one spot so it is easier to reference, also Playmakers make special spots for studios and find inspiration everywhere!

Myles- Playmakers find inspiration everywhere: I loved that you used materials you could find in life without looking too hard! I am feeling really  inspired to try some of these for myself and in my classroom!

Rebekah- Play-makers retain the right to play!! It inspired me how many different ways you have found to bring creativity to students! So many textures, materials, colors, etc! You spoke about how passionate you are about giving your students the opportunity to do art in the classroom in many different forms, so I know you will push for their right to play! So great!!

Eileen - play-makers find inspiration everywhere: I love how you incorporated ideas of things you’ve made in the past, as well as things you’ve made more recently, into the final project! I also like how a lot of the ideas are very open-ended and could be used in a lot of different ways in the classroom.

Helena - Playmakers opt for offroading: I liked how you looked at something simple like making a book in the classroom, and thought of so many different and unique ways to do that same thing. You took everyday classroom activities and found/ created/ learned about new ways to do these things.

Sophia - Play-makers find inspiration everywhere!! I think it is really great that you used soooooo many different crafts/projects that you have seen or done! There are so many ways to bring art into the classroom and you made this super clear and gave us all so many ideas/tools!

Yeon Soo- Playmakers have fun unscrewing, unraveling, uncovering, unwrapping and unfastening - I think it was really interesting how you were inspired by creations (done by others & by you in the past) to further investigate and build your own pieces!

Hannah J - Playmakers eagerly explore: I can see you explored a very diverse range of art projects whether that was in an exploration on your own, in your past classroom experiences, or even on Pinterest! :-) All of your ideas inspire me to explore some of them myself.

Hanna T - Play-Makers are daring designers: I really like how you are giving examples of ways to make different designs (like ways to make a book). Your ideas are very cool and creative! They’d definitely engage the students and it gave me some ideas I’d like to use as well!
