         <title>Different Groups of People </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Race-&nbsp; “a group of people who are perceived by given society to be biologically different from others”(Thio,197),&nbsp; and other words races based off of the perception of the public opinion meaning that it's not factual it's all about what we think it should be (society)&nbsp;</div><div>Ethnicity-&nbsp; “an ethnic group is a collection of people who share a distinctive cultural heritage” (Thio,198),&nbsp; or they have the same background maybe they might have the same religion or history ,&nbsp; it is based by culture.</div><div>Minority - “a racial or ethnic group that is subjected&nbsp; to prejudice and discrimination” (Thio, 198),&nbsp; may not necessarily be the smallest percentage of the population but they are subjected to the dominant group so in other words they are kind of controlled in a way.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title> Different Diversities</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Native Americans-&nbsp; Minority-They were once called Indians and lived in America as we know it first they were taken over by the Europeans who describe them as Savages but in reality they were very useful and helpful.</div><div>African Americans-&nbsp; Minority -This group&nbsp; people were taken away from their homes in Africa and move to America where they were enslaved for over 200 years after enslavement they undergo and still to this day go through discrimination&nbsp; with laws such as Jim Crow.</div><div>Hispanic Americans-Minority-&nbsp; They also once acquired land that is now considered America,&nbsp; from the n 1900&nbsp; to now a lot of them are immigrants from Mexico but they&nbsp; also come from other countries &nbsp; Cuba and Puerto Rico .They also participate in the religion Roman Catholic.</div><div>Asian-American - Minority - As of 1980 to present time&nbsp; this group of people have been making a Fast growth in America coming from countries such as China, Japan , the Philippines, Korea, and Vietnam. &nbsp; They're one of the smaller minorities in America but they do have a large&nbsp; presents in America they started&nbsp; coming to America on the West Coast.</div><div>Jewish Americans -Minority- Some of the first ancestors of Jewish came to America in&nbsp; 1654 they're also a group that went through a lot of discrimination and came to America for a better life nowadays Stairs some indication that Jewish roots Traditions are have lacked and that a lot of their marriages have been&nbsp; with partners of&nbsp; non Jewish background.&nbsp;</div><div>European Americans-&nbsp; they are known best as white they come from places such as Germany Ireland and other countries from the west and North Europeans there's someone seen as a dominant race in America.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Functionalist perspective: cohesive relations</div><ul><li>Assimilation- The process by which a minority adopts a dominant group's culture as the culture of the large Society- meaning they go along with the Norms of the dominant group</li><li>Amalgamation- The process by which the subcultures of various groups are Blended together forming a new culture,&nbsp; cultural pluralism- the peaceful coexistence of various racial and ethnic groups, each retaining its own subculture&nbsp; in other words becoming one with each other.</li></ul><div>&nbsp;Conflict perspective:&nbsp; abusive relations</div><div>-Their relations between&nbsp; races and ethnicities as a negative thing filled with racism,” the belief that one's own race or ethnicity is superior to the others”, They note the heart ship such as segregation ,expulsion , and extermination.</div><div><br></div><div>Symbolic Interactionist Perspective: Perception and Interaction</div><div>-In this perspective they view relations as a dominant group feeling the majority group being somewhat of a threat or incapable of doing normal things which causes stereotypes which is basically&nbsp; putting a certain stigma on a certain group.&nbsp; This also causes segregation</div><div><br><br></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
