1) An application has been developed to remind patients to do the physical therapy that have been given to the them by the mean of a booklet or watching a DVD.
The limitation of this solution is that it uses smartphones which is not user friendly for elderly, tablet which is too bulky, and lastly smartwatch that is too small to read. As well as using booklet and DVD as a guidance for the physical therapy.
2) An application has been developed that can playback physiotherapy videos on a smartphone and at the same time it can playback the videos on a bigger screen while the smartphone acts a remote controller. However, the application may not be easy for the elderly to use as most of the elderly are not familiar with the use of smartphones.
3)an application which has been developed to help patients with stroke who had been released from the hospital and had perform physiotherapy to improve their health at home
the application only serve as a means of reminder
hence a considered a limitation as it doesn’t serve as an effective solution  for the patient due to the fact that the elderly aren’t properly guided at home
The Achievements/ contributions:
An improvement on current solution is an improvement on the quality of life for the elderly. Our goal is to make it easier for the elderly to use the smart phone application to access their physiotherapy videos. by introducing a simpler method to access them.We'll create a smartphone application that plays back videos on a bigger screen by integrating the Raspberry Pi with the smartphone. Also, we'll use NFC tags to make it easier for the elderly to use.
The Methodology:
Developing a smartphone application to display physical therapy videos on the smart phone as well as on on a bigger screen by integrating Raspberry Pi and the smart-phone together; making it convenient for the elderly to see clearly. Sometimes their doctors advise them to perform the required physiotherapy at home.
Problem Statement:
However, a major concern arises when the elderly are required to perform their physiotherapy at home. Mainly, the fact that they don't have proper guideline on how to carry out the physiotherapy properly. If performed wrongly, they are at a risk of dislocating a joint or a bone. Therefore, it is vital that we provide a proper means of the guidelines in the comfort of their homes.
Motivation Factor:
There is a need to provide proper guidelines for physiotherapy to the elderly at home in a way that's easy for them to access. Therefore, we use smartphones(which are easily available) and create an application that can playback videos on the phone and on a bigger screen(integrating Raspberry Pi and Smartphone and using NFC to make it simpler to use).
The scope of area of research:
To promote and improve digital lifestyle for the elderly to help them with physiotherapy.
