Where- Parts of California, Washington state, and Arizona. Close to vital war assets and military bases

What- Provided the military with the power to ban citizens with Japanese ancestry in a 50 to 60 mile radius in Washington state to California, and extending into southern Arizona. 

Why- Large amounts of Japanese Americans were in close proximity to war assets along the pacific coast. The military commanders didn't trust them and didn't want them to be so close. 

How- Nobody trusted the Japanese Americans after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Many Japanese people couldn't return to their homes or jobs after the order was over. Some also lost their belongings and family members. The order sparked constitutional and political debate over whether or not the order was right to do. Many worked on farms and fields, cultivating fruit and other materials. However, On February 19,1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9006. This order would cause the lives of Japanese to change drastically. Around 120,000 Japanese were involuntary removed from the West Coast and put into assembly centers. They were then put into isolated, fenced, and guarded centers. They were known as internment camps. Some of the residents put into the camps were American citizens. Because of the order, many citizens in the camps lost liabilities including their property and homes. Eleanor Roosevelt was appalled by her husband's actions to go through with the order. This is because it essentially violated the Bill of Rights. She warned her husband against it, but he didn't listen nor talk about it. It was hard to be certain that they weren't spies working to plot another attack on the United States. This fear of the Japanese being spies or soldiers working for Japan caused panic and hysteria within the United States. The fear and hysteria of American citizens was also shared with military and political advisors.
