Blocking occurs when one session holds a lock on a specific resource and a second SPID attempts to acquire a conflicting lock type on the same resource. This SQL Blocking slows down programs and is problematic for multi-threaded approaches like distributed computing. This is a traditional data warehouse deadlock. Data cannot enter the system until the use release lock and there is no way to access transaction without releasing locks.
