It was found that gunshot residue was found on Russell Dermonds body, leading officials to believe that he was shot and then decapitated to hide the bullet. Officials have announced that they were unable to find more clues during their investigation. The killer and their whereabouts remains unknown and their means of gaining access to the Dermonds residence has not been answered.

🔔 BREAKING: 10 years after the murder of Russel and Shirley Dermond, an elderly couple found murdered in Putnam County Georgia, officials have uncovered DNA samples and cellular device data.

But despite finding evidence 10 years prior to the crime scene, police were still unable to identify the killer due to numerous factors and faults that may hinder their investigation as the DNA may belong to Russel or Shirley and may be hard to uncover due to the case being 10 years old.

More information will be released, but for now, the case remains UNSOLVED.
