There is a real focus on some of the amazing projects and discoveries that have come about as a result of an international effort and also how the international science community has jumped to the aid of countries at times of crisis; as seen with the Ebola and Zika viruses. At KS3 level the idea of using SI units and chemical symbols in order to facilitate international cooperation is very prominent. The students were encouraged to delve into the people responsible for researching the cause and (potential) cure for these diseases.
