It was very interesting to read the article about the PLC "Lite" and it gave us some ideas of things we were doing really well and some areas in which we can grow and dig deeper in the PLC process. We would like to find ways to extend our PLC's to specialist and make sure that all educators involved in a student's education get a say and a share in their learning. We know individual students really well,  this is a strength of TCE and ALL our teachers.   We want to be sure that when we look at "classrooms" we are considering all learners that are part of that classroom!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Moving into this year, as we work in our PLCs, we need to purposefully use the data that will be accessible in panorama. We will use our time intentionally, ask and collaborate with our extra support staff, and follow our PLC agendas with fidelity.&nbsp;<br><br>2. Our strengths as a campus PLC are that we understand the four questions and are passionate about analyzing data and planning interventions for all of our learners. An area of growth could be to use vertical PLCs and vertical grouping in our campus wide WIN time.&nbsp;<br><br>3. We will support our new hires and first year teachers in knowing where we’ve been on our PLC journey and taking time to go slowly at first so they can learn the process and participate confidently.&nbsp;<br><br>4. A huge focus that will help us move forward with the MTSS process this year will be on building strong relationships. Communication with other stakeholders about needs of children (ie nurse, counselor, teachers, specialists) will help us best serve children as the whole child.&nbsp;<br><br>5. Questions— how will we pre-share groupings and data with our support so that time isn’t lost at 2:20 when campus wide win time begins?<br><br>6. Panorama— next steps would be creating learner groupings that are shared. This will support MTSS.&nbsp;<br><br>7. The panorama platform will&nbsp; help us as we use the mtss process within our PLC.&nbsp;<br><br>8. In K-2, we have consistently used small groups in math and ela. Groups have been fluid and used responsive planning to meet needs shared in formative assessments and district data.<br><br>9. Next steps would be to collaborate with teammates regarding small groups (notes in shared team plans=work smarter not harder). Sharing learners will also help us use our time more efficiently to meet needs of outlying small groups.&nbsp;<br><br>10. For formative assessments, we use thumbs up/down, this or that (true false game), stop and jot, Google form check ins, exit tickets, journaling, anecdotal notes about conferring or small group conversation, and quick checks to analyze understanding. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our campus has created a great structure for our PLC and MTSS to work together.&nbsp; I feel like we do a great job at looking at the whole child.&nbsp; I think that Panorama is going to be a great resource to have all of our students data in one spot.&nbsp; This will help us use our time intentionally and purposefully. &nbsp;<br>New hires will benefit from our support and the overall structure that we have created as a school community.&nbsp; Agendas allow us to stay on track and focus on our purpose for each meeting.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Our focus for PLC should be on the Big Ideas. We should focus on "learning".&nbsp; Just because information is taught, doesn't mean all students learned it.&nbsp;<br>Our campus strengths- we meet collaboratively as a&nbsp; 2nd grade team including our IC, LAS, AP, GTI, etc.. and we have great communication. Our weakness is that we sometimes focus on our own students. &nbsp;<br>Often times it is easier to focus on interventions and not enrichment. The Panarama platform has all the data we need to focus on all 4 questions.&nbsp;<br>We can use Panarama to create groups and set goals.&nbsp; Data for the whole child is in one spot!<br>We use several assessments to aide in forming small groups, including formative assessments. I will definitely use the Panarama platform to create small groups.&nbsp;<br>Some types of formative assessments we use are jot lot, reflections, sticky notes, think-pair-share, turn and talk, etc..<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Where do you feel we should focus our attention moving forward this year to support PLC implementation and structures?&nbsp; I would love to see us focus our PLC efforts more on student and educator learning and less on what we are teaching/planning for an upcoming unit.&nbsp;</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>What are strengths and areas of growth for our campus in the area of PLC? LKS does a great job of setting aside time for PLC, establishing and adhering to norms, utilizing an agenda, documenting meeting notes, setting a purpose/goal and constructively using our time together. Ideally HPLS would be at the heart of all PLC work, and we would continue improving in the creation and use of common formative assessments to plan and implement instruction for the edges.&nbsp;</li><li>Where do you feel we should focus this school year to move forward with MTSS as a campus? We should be cautious about scheduling interventions, so that learners aren't missing Tier 1 instruction for Tier 2 or 3 interventions.</li><li>What questions do you have about MTSS and how can the district/campus support you moving forward? I think I just need to see the MTSS process being modeled, so I can find the best way my singleton role can help support our campus' efforts.</li><li>What are our next steps for implementation of the Panorama platform at our campus? I think we'll need more training about how to utilize the Intervention piece, but it seemed intuitive. I love that we will be able to access all information about our learners in one place. I see purposeful uses for the "groups" function, too.</li><li>How can this platform help us with our goals for PLC and MTSS moving forward? When we analyze the learner data housed in Panorama to help guide instructional decisions, we will be able to better address the needs of the whole child with customize instruction.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;What are we currently doing with our classroom practices for small group instruction and formative assessments? More grade levels are using unit pretests than ever before so instruction is meeting the needs of those learners on the edges.&nbsp;</li><li>What are our next steps to strengthen implementation of intentional small group instruction? I see small group instruction in some content areas, like reading and math, more than others, like science and social studies. This is an area in which we can strive to grow.</li><li>What types of formative assessments are we using to increase engagement levels and how are we using assessments to plan, evaluate and measure learning? I like clothesline and 4 corners-types of activities to increase engagement and promote discussion and critical thinking. To impact planning, I like to use KWL, responses to journal prompts, thinking maps, and unit pretests. Self-reflections in person or via Bulb, exit tickets, revised KWLs/thinking maps, etc. are all great tools to evaluate and measure learning.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
