Colombia is stunningly beautiful, great fun and an amazing place to visit as a traveller or backpacker. However, as it’s such a large country, planning a trip there can be overwhelming, with so many options for places to see and things to do.

Visiting in Bucaramanga

In Bucaramanga you can visit several shopping centres, nature reserves and bars; however, personally, I recommend walks to different places outside of the city to see the landscapes and experience the quietness. The most typical tourist spots are: Panachi with views of the Cachón del Chicamocha, Acuaparque and El cerro de Santisimo. In nearby towns such as San Gil you can go water rafting and visit el Parque Gallineral, in Girón you can appreciate colonial architecture and la Mesa de Los Santos is a place to go and spend weekends with friends.
