Paid informants from the FBI would try to rope Muslim youth into becoming part of their made up conspiracies, which was not covered in the news, but topics such as the Newburgh Sting (a 2009 terrorism plot in the Bronx) and the Fort Dix Five (a 2007 terrorism plot in Fort Dix) were aired on national television, thus continuing the stigma against Muslim Americans.
