-My expectations of this class is to expand my knowledge of the government system and how it works. I would like to know more about the constitution and how it effects us. Lastly, I want to pass the constitution test so I can pass senior year, and I want to receive an A in the class.
-My level of interest in the election is fairly moderate. My vote is based on the lesser of evils to pick to run the country. I probably should do more research about the two candidates.

I thought that Ruth Ginsburg and Sandra O'Conner were two powerful women. They went through many obstacles before they were able to be lawyers. They were leaders who gave women rights in order that we could be viewed more than a part of their husbands work. They responded to criticism too. When Ginsburg was given an nickname of a "bi#@%" then she responded with "better bi#@% than mouse." They had enough courage to be leaders for women.

I like how there were several people reading the Declaration because it showed how it is for all people. I like the grievances section because it showed that people were passionate about all the wrongdoings George did against them. My favorite part was when all of them read together and talked about their independency from Great Britain.

I do not support an amendment making flag burning unconstitutional. There are many protests demonstrating people's beliefs. If someone wants to burn the flag to show how they do not support something then that is their right. It would be unconstitutional to take that right away from them. Not everyone supports the flag and what it represents so forcing everyone to put the flag as a positive symbol may offend people.

The movie was really good. It was dramatized and exciting. I really like Jefferson Smith's character. It showed how a shy person overcome their fears. I like the romance in the movie. Saunders really helped Smith fight for his cause. It demonstrates how real love can be. Sometimes there will be rocky roads but you will always come back to each other. I liked how it gave a insight on government corruption. Jim Taylor's character showed how people can control people corrupt senators and government officials. Overall the movie was important to show how even little bills have a chance to rule over bigger bills proposed.

I believe that Mr. Smith belonged to republican party. His ideas are very conservative. He believes in small businesses and companies because the big ones can be corrupt. For example, Smith proposed a bill for the government to loan money in order to buy land for a national boys camp. He fought against Jim Taylor's, a political machine, plan for a dam to be built which was supported by the senator, Joseph Paine. Mr. Smith is a well liked person in his state. I believe that he would still be in politics. He would still belong to the republic party. He would continue to propose bills and fight for people. Mr. Smith would be less shy and master his fear of public speaking. His state would continue to elect him in the Senate. His innocence and integrity serves as a vital contribution to the senate. He keeps the senate honest and on track.

Jefferson Smith is Similar to Mark Kirk. They both are a part of the Republican party. They both are also junior senators. They also both support small businesses. Mark Kirk has helped with issues involving, African Americans, Agriculture, Asian American, Eastern European, Education, Energy, Greek, Healthcare, Judicial Review, Law Enforcement, Latino, Mayors, Polish, Small Business, Student Leadership, Veterans, and Women. Smith and Kirk both are determined congressmen. Kirk has established state-wide advisory boards with area leaders from the Illinois health care, agriculture and the legal communities. They both care about how their actions will effect their home state. In the movie senator Smith had support from his state, therefore he wanted to make decisions on how to help the public. Mark Kirk's advisory boards helped him with public policy how they affect Illinois residents.
https://www.kirk.senate.gov/?p=serving_illinois
