The article's first person point of view and the constant extreme criticizing of details almost decend into blantant bashing of products he does not like. However, it is interesting that he notes that slightly above average detective stories will still get published.

The most obvious is, of course, the quick eye and wit of the three princes to notice the clues left over by the camel and infer what the camel was like. Exonerating themselves because they spoke too quick as if they almost wanted to show off.

This perhaps the most realistic feeling story in the Longman. I'm not sure why, maybe because of the different environment? Pray Nobody See's You and Parker's Shotgun are supposed to be gritty, but they still feel formulaic because of the private eye business (that is not like it is a bad thing). Maybe it is the writing style, maybe it is the mystery itself. Whatever the answer is, Chee's Witch is the most realistic of the bunch.
