1 )One thing I didn't know is that children from lower income families don't receive the same type of education as kids from wealthier families. All kids deserve the same chance of getting an education.
2) As a Social worker I would take away who are children in poverty?
3) I didn't see your three interventions. What would you do to help these kids? I feel that you needed a little more information because this a good topic to talk about. Also, a policy about your topic.
4) If I could add something to your padlet it would be more child poverty and education gaps statics. Action plans that as a social worker I could do. Talk more about why they can't get the same education as wealthier children.
5) This is a good question. I feel there should be more information about this topic between the two and how they differ in education.
Overall, I feel that you were missing your three tiers and your policy. Far as that I think you had some good information. Just wish there was more because this is a huge topic to be discussing.

Tier One, Two, and Three

I will begin discussing the three levels of tiers and how I further plan to help students on each level. Tier one (macro), meaning this helps the entirety of the school. I would begin this level with a policy on academic achievement for all students. Such as, each students gains access to same material, same computers, books, teachers, and otherwise school property. Ensuring that all students have the opportunity at school to succeed.
Tier two, (mezzo), this is where we focus on group work to serve as help. Randomly putting groups together, and having one period a week where that group serves as a support group for academic growth, accountability, and just a friend.
Tier three, (micro), is where this is intended to help an individual student. I would begin with working with children who do not have access to things at home and work with them on an individual basis. Trying to create and comply a plan together to help that student succeed to the best of their ability, regardless of wealth status.

1. I did not know before viewing your padlet that 21% of children are living under what is considered poverty. I was shocked after I read that information, and it is evident that this problem needs to be addressed.
2. The main thing we can do as social workers to help these children daily, is continuing advocating for them. These children need to see people that are working to make their lives better. The empowerment of these children is important to let them know they can achieve anything no matter the circumstance.
3. You delivered the information that you felt necessary to bring your presentation together, but I believe you could've gave more information. I finished the presentation with more knowledge, and eager to help this population.
4. A subtopic that I think would probably be interesting to talk about is how schools today are addressing child poverty, and are there any laws that are in place that advocate for child poverty.
5. In order to bridge the gap between children in poverty, and wealthier children, i believe we need to offer them all the same opportunities. Children who are in poverty should not be given a poor education because of where they live, and how they live. All students should be able to go to school and have access to all the same resources.
