         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>ESPERIMENTO DI ERATOSTENE&nbsp;</strong></div><div><br><br></div><div>In classe con la proff.ssa Sartore abbiamo discusso sull'esperimento di Eratostene. Ci ha spiegato la teoria di Eratostene: egli riteneva che la città di Alessandria d'Egitto e Assuàn fossero situate sullo stesso meridiano.&nbsp;</div><div>Egli conosceva la loro distanza e sapeva che a mezzogiorno del 21 giugno ad Assuàn il sole era sulla verticale della città. Eratostene misurò l'angolo che i raggi del sole formavano la verticale,ad Alessandria : risultò pari ad 1/50 della misura angolare di una intera circonferenza, pertanto moltiplicando per 50 la distanza tra Assuàn e Alessandria Eratostene otteneva per la circonferenza terrestre la lunghezza di 39375 Km : valore sorprendentemente vicino a quello che oggi accettiamo come vero e che è stato determinato molto più tardi con metodi e strumenti notevolmente più precisi.&nbsp;</div><div>Dopo averci spiegato questa teoria, la proff ci ha proposto di fare un'attività extra scolastica, che consisteva nell'andare con altre classi per misurare il raggio terrestre nella spiaggia di San Giovanni. Appena arrivati, ci siamo divisi e ogni gruppo aveva determitato occorrente : bastone di legno lungo ( 1m) , metro da sarta, termometro ,calcolatrice scientifica e bussola.</div><div>Eravamo orientati a sud-ovest rispetto alla scuola, le condizioni di meteo erano : ( copertura cielo % ) 30 , vento ( direzione- intensità ) debole,tramontana, temperatura dell'area ( °C ) 46° umidità.</div><div>A 12:20 abbiamo posizionato il bastone di legno sulla sabbia , con l'aiuto del metro siamo riusciti a misurare l'ombra ( 85 cm ) , dopo di chè abbiamo calcolato con il teorema di Pitagora il valore dell'ipotenusa ( 131 cm ) e abbiamo calcolato il valore dell'angolo in gradi ( 40, 54°) , dopo di chè abbiamo applicato la proporzione cioè, angolo trovato : distanza all'Equatore = 360 : circonferenza del meridiano terrestre e l'abbiamo trasforemato in metri ( 36.000 ) .</div>]]></description>
