I always find the ideation and empathy stage to be too short. I personally find that why prototyping can’t be send to a 3D printing company or a prototyping company to help and we focus on the design thinking process which is the most important

There are quite a no. of skill sets that the teacher needs to master. E.g. ideation to technical aspects to modelling. The gaps require the teachers to have the superpower to visualise the end product to better advise the students.

Sometimes at different points in the project journey, it does feel like we are going nowhere with the students. It takes courage for the teachers to be able to believe that all will be well at the end of the day, to continue to persevere on and motivate the students.

Some general knowledge on how things work in order to guide students
A flexible, resourceful mind to guide students toward good solutions
A good sense of judgement in order to evaluate whether student’s ideas are creative and feasible
Magic powers to keep students excited despite facing challenges and the messiness of innovation

The ability to pose meaningful questions that encourage students to view things from new perspectives, rather than having a fixed mindset, is essential. It's also important for teachers to foster problem-solving and creative skills. Teacher mentors maybe need to engage in critical thinking to help students make adjustments early on, preventing them from feeling discouraged by failures later.

Challenges at my school include only being able to meet the students once a week (in curriculum time), the late scheduling of the period in the day (3pm+), students packed other activities interfering with the lesson, the students' limited life experiences leading to poor ideas.

Ability to prompt the students and asking the "why, and then.." questions to bring out their curiosity and keeping them critically thinking. - and of course to hold ourselves back for giving them the answers immediately.

the ability to juggle through different commitment at work and the IVP program itself
To help them keep ideas simple yet feasible, to be able to that there are many problems that are worth addressing.

Prototyping is the most challenging for my school. Students do not go through D&T and there is no workshop facilities or workshop instructors to support. All the IvP teachers are also not D&T trained. Hence it is challenging to produce working prototypes

Can it be more just in time kind.. ? Instead of monthly..

I like : that there are a good variety of teacher mentors from different backgrounds who can give us feedback from different perspective

I wish: You can put new teachers in a workshop that models the IVP program itself where now the teachers are the students, and the mentors are the teachers.

What if:

1) Destructured the sessions

-Students encountered "stuck points" at different times. Hence, a structured innovation clinic may not be so suitable if the query is urgent and even if it's a very short query.

2) Post questions to an email when we have problems 24/7 will be good (but you need not answer immediately, maybe within 3 working days)- I think teachers may prefer an email then the hotline which everybody can see?

I really like the idea of networking! Unfortunately, wednesday is our school's CCA day with teachers down for duty. We can try out the Whatsapp hotline.

I have a thought. What if we still keep this idea where we chose some project(s) for discussion, and if for that session, there aren't, a group that received 'ad-hoc' help prior to the innovation clinic can share a bit of the challenges they faced and how the WhatsApp helpline helped them? That might also give other groups who could potentially face that problem some idea?

I like the idea - Thanks for all the effort put in to provide such clinics for teachers ... I wish - beside the feedback/support/tech guidance given to questions posted/shared, there can also a 15 mins session (tedtalk version) to share issue/research/innovation based on the flow on IvP schedule eg April on ideation and May on prototyping. What if ... these sessions are recorded/edited/compiled as next year learning resources for teachers

I like that there are experts to help us when we face a road block

I wish there could be project-specific support provided.

What if this could be asynchronous? Where help is provided as and when needed.

I wish... we could network more with IvP teachers from other schools
