A heartfelt book about mental health and self-acceptance. Hayes shares personal stories and practical advice, encouraging readers to recognize and embrace their emotions. She emphasizes that struggling is normal and highlights the importance of seeking support. The book promotes the message that healing takes time and it's okay to ask for help.

This book is hitting a homerun when talking about emotional vocabulary. This literacy component would promote a conversation in the classroom about these new and big vocabulary words that are about big and heavy emotions. The students would not only be taught about these new words and keep building their vocab bank, but it also allows a space for the students to see that any emotion is valid for any person, especially these big emotions that people don't always share.
