This is the Pool space in the journalism department, which is a social space for students to work and relaxed. There was a big group of students behind this board discussing a group project and moving chairs around so they could speak more easily, so it’s a flexible space. I think this board also does a good job at showcasing the achievements of students, and is therefore a good source of motivation

Coffee shop... Or social constructivist learning space?!?

What may look like an unassuming coffee shop seating area is actually a potential environment for social constructivist learning - students can discuss and reflect on their prior learning together, share their insights and build a more comprehensive understanding of the subject together over their favourite beverage.
