         <description><![CDATA[<p>Group 1: Growing up in China, my family could afford international education and supplementary English materials, giving me an advantage over peers who relied solely on public education. If my parents had also been able to send me to an international school, I would have had even more opportunities to master English. This could have allowed me to access better job environments in the future, giving me a higher chance to send my children to international schools as well. However, such cycle creates a significant disparity, as children from rural areas or economically disadvantaged backgrounds have limited access to these opportunities.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In prioritizing unity, many important differences are erased. Schools should try to encourage students to share their language resources even if only "on the playground" so they also have form positive associations with their heritage language. Even if Mandarin is used as the LOI in the classroom, teachers can make a clear distinction between the importance of the formal academic language and the conversational heritage language / dialect. </p>]]></description>
