Hello everyone! I'm Miriam, and i'm primary school teacher. I teach music and art. In my school there are so many foreign students from all over the world. Often my students are free to tell their own traditions and cultural aspects of their country of origin.

Why address cultural diversity in schools?

Cultural diversity are like a bridges, enable to discover,learn and interact with far and different. Are opportunities to expand our Knowledge and learn respect for what is different.

Developing intercultural competence as a teacher

I think that to be a valid multicultural teacher is important to know as much as possible of other cultures. You can get great results by working students and their families. In music and art i have often left freedom of expression and then be able to make a constructive dialogue on cultural differences of the various countries in the class.

Having so many foreign children in class i find useful and informative to talk about their contries of origin,tell stories and traditions,to make the user more engaging lesson often the LIM to show images or listen to songs of these distant countries.

I think it's very important to help students develop critical thinking eni towards different cultures,this way will not prejdice and will be able to work togheter constructive and creative.
