1. If he has enough courage and believes in himself he can’t fail. Which is supposed to make him get over his fear of failing. She also says if you don’t take the you’re a coward and a poorcat which is meant to be a shot at his ego. She also says that now is the perfect time and place for this to happen. 2. Yes because he is still able to fight in the wars showing lots of bravery but he knows right from wrong because he doesn’t want to kill the king.
3. Lady Macbeth believes masculinity is doing whatever it takes to get exaclty what they want and that they should shed blood if necessary that they should have no fears and be completely determined. Macbeth believes that you should have emotions and be sensitive to the persons feelings.
4. Back then lady Macbeth was acting more masculine but in today’s society because we are more accepting her determination is considered the norm.
5. To a great extent because the witches tell Macbeth and Banquo their prophecy which motivates Macbeth to steal the throne.
6. A theme in act 1 is indecision and internal conflict because Macbeth didn’t know whether or not if he should kill king Duncan.

1) Lady Macbeth uses rhetorical questions and questions his manhood to perused Macbeth to kill Duncan

2) His wife does not perceive Macbeth as masculine, and compares him to a child. Macbeth does not represent traditional masculinity

3) Macbeth has morals, and does not represent his wife’s traditional views of masculinity

4) Lady Macbeth is seen as more traditionally masculine, but in today’s society she might still be perceived as feminine as well as strong willed

5) The “witches” give a “prophecy” predicting Macbeth’s fate, and his belief in the supernatural is what motivates his actions throughout act one

6)

1. Lady Macbeth scares him into doing it by pressuring him. She tells him that he’s not a real man if he doesn’t kill Duncan because he said he would.
2. We think he does because he cares more about doing what is right than traditional masculinity.
3. Lady MacBeths picture of masculinity is a very overmasculine idea that involves power, while MacBeths masculinity is more moral.
4. With a more feminist society, Lady MacBeth might do the murder herself instead of relying on a man to do it.
5. The witches tell MacBeth that he will be king, therefore causing him to kill Duncan.
6. The overlying theme of good versus evil is the main theme of the play, being shown in Lady MacBeth versus MacBeth, and MacBeths inner conflict.

1. She tells him that doing it will prove he's a man with courage.
2. He shows both strength and judgement in his conversation about what would come out of murdering Duncan.
3. She sees masculinity as being powerful and ruthless with strong intent, and Macbeth believes it should be more of a peaceful but respected leader.
4. Lady Macbeth would be really feminist and take things into her own hands more.
5. The encounter with the witches enforces Shakespeare's reliance on fate and destiny.
6. There's a theme of gaining power and control, with challenged judgement and morals.

She represents masculinity by fighting for herself and standing up to people and wanting to be treated equally.
4. Lady Macbeth probably wouldn't have as much trouble being equal to men.
5. The mystery and supernatural aspect makes the characters more dark and mysterious and makes it appear to be more of a challenge.
6.

1. she would manipulate him asking if he was even a real man since he didn't have the bravery and be savage to kill Duncan
2. in a way he kind of does, he wants do things the right way but yet his wife makes him feel as it wasn't the right way.
3. not letting anything stop u from getting what u want and thats to become king and she believes he should take it to the extreme and kill the king
4. today, her actions are more common, and we now are more risk takers especially after wanting to get the things we desperately want or need
5.the extent mysticism and supernatural affect the story because of the three whites making theories that Macbeth would become king.
6. A theme we see developing in the play would be drama because of the things leading up to it, like lady Macbeth persuading Macbeth to kill the king.
