Development: a change of function as a result of growth. Refers to progress in skills and abilities, measured in stages, because it occurs in an orderly sequence. Most development requires growth too.

Physical development: includes the biological changes in a person. Some of these changes growth of the entire body, such as bones and muscles, internal organs, and the brain. Physical development also includes changes in hormones and motor skills.

Intellectual development: involves changes in a person’s thinking, intelligence, and language. Intellectual development includes the many brain activities, such as memory, problem solving, and imagining.

Emotional development: involves recognizing feelings or emotions such as love, fear, happiness, or anger. Another part of emotional development is learning to express emotions and learning to control certain responses to emotions. Emotions or feelings play in an important role in personality development. Children learn to experience and express their feelings through their interactions with parents, siblings, and others.

Social development: involves changes in person’s relationships with other people. Children first learn about relating to others by observing, and interacting with their parents. A child’s social development is also greatly affected by contact, or lack of contact with other children and adults. You can study social and emotional development separately, they are really interwoven or blended. As you read, many feelings arise from and are expressed through social relations. Many researchers express this blend as “socioemotional development.” Parenting involves the whole child, all aspects of growth and development blended together.

I found the development of the child interesting

I will apply this to myself when I’m going to know my future child
