If you like psychological thrillers and mysteries, you will love this book!

I loved “the twin” by Natasha Preston because it was fascinating to see the dynamic between the two sisters. Ivy was able to manipulate iris by aggravating her until she lashed out, then acting all concerned and confused as to why iris was upset. It was also interesting to see iris slowly piece the truth together. Ivy is a chillingly accurate depiction of a remorseless manipulator. She isolates the victim (iris) and causes a rift between iris and her friends and boyfriend. Even their father doesn’t understand what’s happening.

The Summer We Forgot by Caroline George

This book was a very interesting read that follows a group of teens who are not too dissimilar to the power rangers from the original series in a murder-mystery story to find out what happened at a summer camp two years ago. This book really spoke to me as it allowed me to see how two people can interact with and see the same stimuli and yet react completely differently to them. It is interesting to see how simple the book makes the human mind's thoughts and actions and yet how much it reveals through simple interactions between characters and their environment. Its a book that doesn't take itself seriously and yet the plot is very serious. If you like suspense this is a great book.

The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne collins

If you like Dystopian Fiction and Underdog stories, you’ll love this quadrilogy!

I really loved this book because it is a dystopian future in which citizens are forced to watch and partake in a battle royale style competition each year, or face starvation. The main protagonist is a poor, female resident of a coal mining region, but she is willing to do what is needed to save her family. I appreciated that character deaths are actually meaningful, and the nature of the contest actually affects the mental state of the people.

Something that also intrigued me was her wants and needs that she expresses that are so different from the world today, like wanting to see a real bird. The whole savior thing is kind of strong in this book which I didn't really like, but if you can get passed that, than its cool.

Misery by Stephen King

If you're a fan of unforgettable villains and claustrophobic horror, this is a shoe-in for a new favorite.

This book was, in every sense of the word, unforgettable. A writer kidnapped by his biggest fan doesn't seem like a story that could span 100,000 words, but the author soars with very meticulous plots that build through the whole story, almost like slowly putting each piece of the puzzle together. My favorite part though is the villain, Annie Wilkes, who's madness beats down on not only the main character, but the reader as well. Even though the story plays out in the setting of one lonely cabin, Stephen King makes the setting of this book feel like an entire battleground with labyrinths, and where solace is so close, but so far. On top of that, a commentary on writing as a whole, and this book is flagship horror for me, with the length not being overbearing like some of King's more out of hand works, but still packing a scare a page.

When I read this book i related so much to Eleanor with being new and people looking at me funny. I loved how when Park and Eleanor got to actually talk to each other and get to know each other, how much he loved her and wanted to protect her. When people would talk bad about her he would come in to defend her no matter what it was, an how he made her feel loved when she didn't feel that at home. I loved how no matter what anyone said he still had her back.

If you like "The Handmaids Tail" , "Article 5", and very realistic fiction, then you'll love this book.

I loved this book because of how realistic it is. This book explores a drought in California, highlighting the efforts of survival of a group of teenagers. One thing I LOVED about this book is how relatable it can be, especially to society; it's not one of those books that try to leave real-world stuff out (Maybe for copyright? I don't know). For example, Costco was a big part of it, which helped me imagine the scenes in this book.

It also gives you an eye-opening way of viewing human life. Such a large part of our society is based on mere access to water, and for so many around the globe, this virtually horrific story is faced daily. It does help you appreciate the life you live in such a developed country and gives you that unique insight that you wouldn't have found otherwise throughout your life.

If you like The Hawthorne Legacy, by Barnes, Jennifer Lynn. or A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, by Jackson, Holly; you might like this book.

I enjoyed reading "The Inheritance Games" because it had me on my feet the whole time. Each chapter has a new mystery to solve, and new characters being introduced. In this book a Young girl loses her parents in a car accident and is left a huge inheritance of money by a complete stranger, who recently passed. I liked how the author did a good job on sharing the MC's thoughts and feelings, so the reader could really relate, and feel her emotions. Being a teenager like the characters I can relate to some of thief personalities and feelings.

Truly Devious - Maureen Johnson

If you like murder mysteries and boarding school, you'll love this book!

I liked this book because of the main character, Stevie. While the story isn't told from a first person perspective, much of the narration still plays itself to sound more like Stevie herself. As a self proclaimed detective, Stevie is very observant and carefully makes infrences using her observations in addition to her prior knowledge. The writing reflects this by providing the reader with observations on the things around her, as well as her thoughts and actions. Aditionally, Stevie and the supporting cast of characters are all likeable and add color to the book. Overall, the book has a good amount of mystery, drama and enough comedy to make it an enjoyable read.

The author didn't make it that when the main character meets a seemingly perfect guy that he's "the one". The story shows variety in different types of love. It shows how even with something so traumatic can make a person more powerful in the end. It also shows how the right person can make life just a little more easier. The love story wasn't just the only plot in the story and i think it makes it even better. The story is a perfect balance of love and healing.

In his quest to escape, a young group of queer teenagers take him in, the leaders knowing of his - inner most sin - they use this to an advantage. Though it remains an internal battle whether he be less abused in this group or the previous he had to see as a home. The book starts directly with the story, instead of slowly easing into the events, allowing people to feel the event before explaining what was happening. Then the book slowly backs out of the heavy events, revealing that Cate wasn't really getting kidnapped, allowing the reader a sense of safety to develop within the events, even as they turn to become more dangerous. As Cate's back story develops and falls into place, the reader can truly feel just how much impact her love life can have on her. The flow of the book and the way everything moves feels natural and realistic. The character backgrounds were also interesting and played a big part in the plot of the books and choices that were made. One big event happened in a moment that should have been happy but turned difficult that was completely unexpected and shocked me, but it just showed reality and how this is a problem that can happen in real life but nothing ever gets done from it, or people never speak up. So it's interesting to see it be a big part of the book.
