Latin didn't teach us anything but the origins of the dead language, and for Spanish I could barely hold a conversation. Both of those were a quarter long so I'm hoping to get somewhere in this French class by the end of this year. They tend to stick to an immersion type technique, Speaking the language as often as possible even to those who likely do not understand it, like in a level one class. My teacher didn't speak as much french and we only had to ask for certain things in french. She wouldn't have us learn at our own pace or repeat words in french for clarity. She was an amazing teacher but learning the basics and having them stick was slightly there. I have high hopes for this French Class.
