Hi, I am Daren Babnew, I am a recent (Dec 16) graduate from Stockton. I am married with 3 children (girls 3, 5, & 8). I retired from the military in Sept 2013. After serving over 20 years, with numerous deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, my wife decided it was time I retired. I served in the Marine Corp, the Navy, and the Air Force. After seeing the effects of poverty and lack of education around the world, I decided to become a teacher. My hope is to at least effect the life of one student, in order to break the cycle of poverty. I chose Special Education for several reasons. One because my nephew was classified with an IEP. When I read his records, this blue eyed blonde haired, was described as an African American. He was going to school in Philadelphia, and his classroom activities were described (by Him) as just sitting around all day. And two my daughter in 3rd grade has already been identified as Gifted and Talented, “Great” I thought, until no one was able to sufficiently explain to me why and how she was classified. So In my efforts to become a more well-rounded teacher I chose to work on my MAED in Special Ed.

Hello! My name is Brynn Buechler and I graduated from Stockton this past December. My degree is in Elementary Ed (K-6). I am also on the Women's Tennis team here and am in my final season. Therefore, I am a full time student. During my student teaching semester, I had the chance to observe an inclusion class and it inspired me to pursue this endorsement in Special Education. I do not have a lot of experience, other than observing for a few days, so I am really looking forward to this semester!

Hi!! I am Jen Kerlin. I graduated Stockton in May of 2009 with my teaching certificate (K-6). I was just starting a family, so did not pursue a full time teaching job until both of my boys were in preschool. Trevor is 9, Conner is 7. I did several maternity leaves and finally landed that sought after full time tenure track position in Galloway. I'm teaching in a 5th grade inclusion room as the special education teacher. I decided to come back to get my masters in special ed after all my experience with different children through the leaves I did. Both of my boys are very active, so when I have time to myself, I enjoy working out and reading. I'm just in the beginning stages of coming back to school and just taking one class at a time. I'm looking forward to this semester.

Hello!!! My name is Chelsea Morales. I recently graduated from Stockton this past December. I hold two degrees, my B.S. in Exercise Science and B.A. in Elementary Ed (K-6). At first I thought I really enjoyed the Exercise Science field until I started teaching at a preschool. I enjoyed going to work every day and teaching young minds, so that is when I knew I needed to follow my passion. During my student teaching semester, I had the chance to observe an inclusion class, which is why I want to pursue masters in Special Education. I am excited to learn more about the field this semester

My original degree is from Cook College, Rutgers U in Natural Resource Management and I was a practicing forester for several years in NW New Jersey. Happenstance had me change directions and I eventually ended up back in South Jersey where I went back to school(Stockton) and got my teaching degree for secondary biological sciences. I eventually earned my masters in science education(Bio). I've found myself gravitating back to the Special Ed demographic and although I'm currently non-matric I'll be pursuing my TOSD cert.
