My name is Fleur, and will be working with Adriana. We will be working as a team to create an activity for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17. The activity has to be suitable for the age group, however we will be working with students that need support, so will have to be suited to them. We have the use of a leisure zone, and their equiptment for the activity. There will be 30 minutes for Adriana and I to carry out this activity with the students. Our role is to plan and conduct an activity for these students in which they will find enjoyable and to a level, challenging.

In this lession, I have considered activities of which would be suitable for the students. For example, there is the option of badminton, basketball, football, or volleyball. Health and safety needs to be considered for all of the activities.
I have chosen football as the activity for the students to take part in. For equiptment, there needs to be some sort of bib for teams to be told apart, a soft ball as to not cause injuries, and two goal posts to score points. The venue will be the Harlow Leisure Zone, which is located a two minute walk from Harlow College. As there is a short path connecting the college and the Leisure Zone, the students can walk there to partake in the activity, and will not need transport arranged for them.

This is suitable for the students with learning supports, between the ages of 14 and 17, as there is not too many rules to follow and remember, and they will be easy to follow and enjoy the game.

10:30- I designed a kit list for the actitvity, to give to Jack who is one of the sports staff who is helping with the activity. This kit list included bibs, cones and a soft ball.
12:15- We went to the O-Zone, where we collected the equiptment for our activity, and made our way down to the Harlow Leisure Zone for a practice run through of our football activity.
12:30- We set up our pitch, and used some of the students from our Travel and Tourism course to run through our activity. We have ensured that the rules are suitable for the Supporting Studdies students, and ensured that they will enjoy it. We hosted the game for 10 minutes, swapping the sides of the pitch for the teams half way through. After the short match, we will host a penalty shoot-out with the students. The run through with the Travel and Tourism students was successful, and showed that the activity will work well with the Supporting Students.

There is space for each childs name, the time that they arrived at the location of where the activity is taking place, and the time that they left. The final column is space for any issues, incidents, or general comments about the session or the child (e.g. Somethin to praise them on, any accidents, behaviour issues etc). Below that is the IRF (Incident report form) for the possibility of ay incidents that need to be recorded.

For this activity, we had to take into consideration the people taking part are Supported Learners. As some have physical or learning disabilities, we have made the rules for the football match easy and simple to understand. Although some may not be abke to participate fully due to a physical disability, they can still be included with things such as helping to referee the match. They will however be let know that they are more than welcome to participate in the mach as much as they want. We have amended the activity to their abilities, for easier rules and less active for the participants

Whilst the activity was taking place, it was important that as an individual, and as a member of the team taking the game, that we were in sight, and watching the game at all times. Encouraging the players, and instructing the game, watching how they play, ensuring they are sticking to the rules, and listening to instructions. Setting the activity up was part of the role, including sorting the players into teams and giving the bibs out to ensure clear team members. Health and safety procedures were followed and watched carefully, as no one was injured or has an incident.
Below is a photo of the supported studies students participating in the achich we put on.

As a pair taking the activity for the students, it ran well. The sports hall was a practical size, and perfect for the activity. There was enough students to participate, and make it more of a competition, and we were able to run the mini tournament rather than just a penalty shootout (our back up plan if there wasn't enough students for a match or if the match didn't go well). The students were all up for taking part, and there were no behaviour issues that had to be dealt with or incidents. They all had fun with the activity and enjoyed themselves, which as a team, was very good to see.
