Gregor's family members all react to his transformation in a negative way. Some showed mostly anger. While some showed concern. For example, his dad was being selfish and showed anger towards Gregor. His dad did not care about the state Gregor was in. He only cared about him missing a day of work which concluded him to lashing out on Gregor.

Gregor's family reaction was concerning, but they were more mad. Because Greogor's parents are retired, Gregor's job is the only source of income. His parents are more worried about the money than him, but his sister is more concerned about Greogor. Once they found out about his transformation they were not accepting at all, his father was trying to get him out and his mother and sister were crying and screaming.

Gregor's family reacts negatively to his transformation. They are not accepting of it and make it seem like they don't care about Gregor himself, only if he is able to work and provide for the family. One example of this is when they bang on his door, forcing him to get out of his room. Throughout Part One, Gregor also always felt like he could never miss a day of work because then his family would view him differently. This goes to show that no one cared about Gregor's mental state but just what he could be providing for the family.

By Gregor's family reacting this way it shows that there is a lot of selfishness in each relationship. You can see this the most in Gregor and his dad. His dad before this change happened would never care to check up on Gregor or care to see how he was feeling. But after the change it was a completely different story, his dad would call him selfish and would make him feel as though he didn't have a purpose if it meant that he wasn't making income for the family. One example of this is thought the whole part one where you can see that in the beginning before any change happened Gregor was on his own most of the time trying to get to work everyday to make his family proud and happy. After his parents found out about the change they would give him the slightest attention but only in a way where they asked why he wasn't working. They never cared about him as a person but only how he could benefit the family.

His father seemed more selfish and felt that even though he turned into an insect he should find a way to resolve his problem and find a way to start working. He felt no sympathy towards his son and his problem that he was facing. Before the transformation his father did not mind Gregor and would respect him and not talk about his family. Now, he faced a lot of problems with his family and what he would do about work.
