Grades

. Task achievement: excellent

. Accuracy: good

. Fluency: good

. Range: fair

. Pronunciation: good

Well done parent on completing your assessment. When it comes to the task, you did well as you were confident and tried to keep the conversation going by using appropriate body language, active listening and some of the language we've learned as well such as if conditional "I'll let you go if you....", words for family and phrases for giving permission "it's okay but..." your pronunciation seemed to be okay and natural. However, you need to focus on the following points:

Be natural with the sentence intonation, as sometimes your voiced sound be up or down. (If you do it... Up)

Think about using fillers to avoid making pauses (You know, well) instead of (ummmm) check this out: https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/skills/speaking/b1-speaking/keeping-conversation-going

Try to revise the usage of the the basic tenses such as the past and present simple tense since you took much time forming sentences. I recommend using the book 📖 ( English Grammar in Use)

Overall, well done and best of luck with your next assessment.

TA: good

Accuracy: good

Fluency: fair

Range: fair

🤬: fair

Hello child, congrats on your first assessment. You have achieved the task as you managed to role play a conversation about family negotiations and you used good language to express your ideas like "You should trust me" You also used good expressions to ask for permission like "Can i borrow your car?"

Regarding your accuracy, you were sometimes accurate but you asked short and grammatical incorrect questions like "why you don't like them?" Instead of "why do you hate/dislike them?" Also, remember that we can use the 1st if conditional to express future possibilities. For example, you said "Do you want me to get high marks?" The question is grammatical correct but you could have said "If you want me to get high marks, you should let me study with my friends".

As for fluency, you were able to maintain the conversation but you hesitate and paused multiple times. You also repeated some sentences like "you should trust me" you can extend your answers by giving more reasons and examples.

Your vocabulary range is good. For example you used words like "consider" but focus on using a variety of grammatical structures. You also used some models verbs like "should and can" try to use others like "have to"

Finally, your speech is easy to follow but you need to work on your intonation in questions. Here is a link to help you with that..... you should also check the pronunciation of the word "difficult" you didn't use the correct word stress. To learn more about word stress, check this link.

You role played a family negotiation where you acted as a parent. During the task you listened to your partner who acted as a child and thought of how you can negotiate deals. You had a natural flow of speech and though there was some hesitation but that was only to help you think and respond. You made a good range of simple grammatical structure such as simple present tense and 1st conditional.

Here are few points you need to consider:

Pay attention to question structure. You said “what you want?” when it should have been “what do you want?”.

You also need to work on your intonation. As it helps the listener to know as it helps to express your emotions.

In the final task, you were expected to negotiate an agreement in a role play. You were able to do that successfully by taking turns, reacting to what your partner was saying and agreeing on an outcome that suits both of you, so well done! You tried using questions to get more information in order to give or deny permission, and you were mostly successful, but you need to pay attention to the form of some questions. You seemed very nervous which made you a bit hesitant while you were speaking; however, when you became more comfortable, your sentences had a good flow and were easy to follow. You have a good range for your level and you tried to use different expressions l. However, be careful of using literal translation from Arabic when using expressions (I don’t feel right about them). Finally, your pronunciation is good overall and it’s easy to understand what you’re saying, but mind adding an extra ‘e’ to some words and mind the difference between the ‘p’ and ‘b’ sounds.

What you can do:

Pay more attention to question forms (what you want?)

Pay attention to the extra ‘e’ sound (nekest instead of next)

Pay attention to the ‘p’ and ‘b’ sounds
