I enjoy the comments Death adds to various parts of the story. 

I have really been enjoying this book, mostly because of the connections that Liesel has with Papa, Max and Rudy. I always find her times with them quite entertaining and enjoyable to follow along and see their connections deepen.

Death was overworked during the war due to a horrible man and his brutal reign. 
I also think death has a subtle admiration towards Liesel because of her courage and personality, something you don't typically see in a girl who isn't even a teenager yet.
