In music it displays an artist's progression from the more music he or she creates over time. In the book Ratliff describes it as becoming a "shareholder" of a musical piece whether it be by playing it, dancing to it, or owning it. The example he uses is Mariah Carey and her collection of musical works. He referenced one of her earliest tracks "Vision of Love" to illustrate how much control she had over her body of work. The artist I would use for my example of an endless inventory would be Young Thug. Young Thug has a large collection of musical work from "I Came From Nothing" to "SUPER SLIMEY" and each album that he created he progressed as a musician.
