This is a form of creative play and imaginative play. This activity can also promote team work and it also gets the kids to use social  skills. This promotes English because they are speaking this will help with their phonixs and pronauciation of the letters. This might also help with their maths because they have to count how many puppets they have so they can form a show with the right number of people. 
If they decide to do a show they might count tickets and count pretend money which will help there maths but also help their imagination and creativity when creating a show and performing and that helps their confondence and social skills.
