         <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><div>📌 <strong>Now Let’s Look at some Literary Devices.</strong>   </div><div><br></div><div><strong>Metaphor</strong> - word or phrase that compares two unlike things. </div><div><br></div><div><strong>Simile</strong> - word or phrase that compares two unlike things using “as” or “like”.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Personification</strong> - refers to when animals, inanimate objects, or places are metaphorically given the qualities of human beings. </div><div><br></div><div><strong>Allusion - </strong>refers to a brief and often indirect reference to another work of art, person, place, or object or literary work that a writer expects the reader to recognize and understand. It may come from history, geography, literature, art, music, or religion. An Allusion often deepens or complicates our understanding of the work. </div><div><br></div><div><strong>Onomatopoeia -</strong> is a word that sounds like the sound it makes. </div><div><br></div><div>For example: pop, crackle, screech, zip, fizz. </div><div><br></div><div>Not just sound effects!</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Irony</strong> - a literary technique used to create meaning that seems to contradict the literal meaning or events. Irony comes in three forms; Verbal, Situational and Dramatic Irony.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Symbolism -</strong> refers to when a word or object stands for something of bigger significance. In the great works of literature, symbols are often complex, encoding more than one thing in the same object. </div><div><br></div><div>For example: A dove may symbolize peace while a black crow or raven may symbolize death.</div><div><br> </div>]]></description>
