One of my 5 books over the summer that I read was Disneylanders by Kate Abbott. I chose to read this book mainly because the cover and title interested me. When I read the description, I was hooked. This book is about a high school girl going on her annual Disneyland trip with her family, but this year, she is not looking forward to it. When she finally gets there, she meets a boy. Throughout the book, she deals with issues like her parents and not having enough freedom. While reading, I did not want it to end. I absolutely love this book.

The mystery book I read over the summer was Nancy Drew; The Mystery of the Glowing Eye. This book was about a young detective trying to solve the mystery of her friend going missing. Overall, this book was alright. Personally, it was not favorite book. It was a littlest of an easy read for me. However, if you are looking for a quick book to read and enjoy mystery novel, I would definitely recommend.

This is the second book in Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. I could try to summarize this book or I could say basically re-word what I said in the two other Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. If I tried to summarize this book, I truly couldn't. In my opinion, this book really has no plot or story line. After reading these three Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, I learned that I do not like this series. I might have been able to enjoy it when I was younger, but now I could not.

I would not recommend this book to any middle schoolers and older. However, this book would be great for elementary students.

Okay, honestly I am a little embarrassed about the next three books. Well, a little more than a little embarrassed. For about half of my summer reading books I read Diary of the Wimpy kid books. I read them because I knew I could finish them in a day or less, which I needed due to a busy summer. This book was an unbelievably easy read and personally, I thought that it had no substance.

I recently read the book Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum. Before I say anything else, if you were to read this book, be warned that there is more mature content throughout the book. Anyway, this book is about a teenage girl named Jessie. Her mother had died and her father had just gotten remarried. So her father moves her away from her home and best friend Chicago to L.A where she attends a rich kid, L.A. style school. One day, Jessie suddenly gets an email from Somebody/Nobody or SN. After chatting for months, Jessie finally gets to meet him. However, she stills doesn't know who it is? Honestly, this book is 100% in my top three favorite books. I absolutely loved it and recommend it to most girls. Yes, girls. This is more of a girly book that I wouldn't necessarily see any guy reading.

I am absolutely in love with this book. 10/10 recommend.

The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi was another mind blowing page turner that I read. It's about a group of high school friends just going out and saying yes to everything. Basically, you could say it's an "emotional rollercoaster" if you want to get cheesy. Lauren Gibaldi perfectly emphasizes the way you would feel if your heart was ripped out and stomped on. While reading along and learning about a girl and her broken heart, you just completely get mesmerized.

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon is a mind blowing read. While following the life of an eighteen year old girl who has never been outside, you begin to get absorbed, you can´t stop reading. You feel so connected and begin to relate to Madeline, this beautiful sick young woman, even though nothing like this has ever happened to you. After eighteen years, Madeline gets antsy. She suddenly wants to do everything she couldn´t, nothing is good enough for her anymore. When a boy her age moves in next door, she can keep her dreams tucked away any longer. She wants to be normal. She wants to travel. She wants to explore. All of this with her life at stake. You find yourself wanting to be in the book with her, meeting her, helping her. I thought this book was unique, in the best way possible. Something that is not like any other book. Ten out of ten for sure. Should you read it? Yes! Will you find yourself wanting more of it? Definitely!

In this book, you read about two sixth graders who start to "like" each other. Personally, I did not enjoy reading this book. It was hard for me to connect to the story and characters and it felt more like a chore to read it then a hobby.

Refugee by Alan Gratz was my literature circle book. It's about three different kids and their three different stories on how they immigrated from three different countries during three different time periods. It was so eye opening to read and realize that my life has been so easy compared to what these young kids have to go through and experience.

What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum was a really good read. It was the second book I read by this author, and that is why I chose it. I really enjoyed reading it and it opened my eyes on topics that I've never put much thought into.
