They were the first people on the ground that we know of. Many native American tribes had tribe leaders that would play the leading role in treaty signings. Sadly they were tricked into giving their land away and were sent away to reservations that were not that big but had so many native Americans in them. They were forced to walk far to go to the reservation and many died during the travel otherwise known as the trail of tears.
