North Moved more &amp; more northerners to consider ending the institution of slavery. South claimed the book was a "pack of lies" and went to the extent of banning it. The author's own great loss lead Stowe to write about the plight of enslaved people. The people were involved, were enslaved people. </div>]]></description>

North viewed it as evidence of the slave powers hostility to the North and damaging effects towards them while, South supported the act, incline in support of slavery. This act started from Douglas adding an amendment that repealed the Missouri compromise &amp; created two new territories, Kansas and Nebraska. Senator Stephen Douglas was involved.</div>]]></description>

North finally felt like expanding slavery will stop while, South was angry because the republican party was a threat to the way of life and of session. This started from the result of the "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and the Dred Scott case, also the Lincoln case lead to Lincoln  winning the election and South feeling threatened as slavery comes to end. Lincoln and Douglas was involved. </div>]]></description>
