I really liked Hofmann's work and how he used big bold type to show impactful spreads in his designs. I used him for quite a lot of inspiration especially the impact spreads by using bold typefaces. Another inspiration for the Wes Anderson project was the colours Wes uses in his films which are quite neutral pastel colours which influenced development through my project. I also took inspiration from the I-D magazines from how they keep the magazine clean and organized which I used in both impact and information spreads.

I tried a few different techniques throughout the project. I used thumbnails I created for reference for when creating my final designs. I screenshotted different approaches and ways of dealing with designs until I got it the correct look I wanted, such as I was using to much colour in some spreads which didn't look quite right until I came across the I-D magazines and understood I could give a clean organised look to my spreads. I also looked at letterpress as an option for the project but ran out of time therefore I could not use the facilities.

I am very happy with the overall outcome of my final designs. I think they are very well coordinated with each other and quite identical. At first I thought the final outcomes were going to be rubbish, everything I tried just didn't look quite right such as the layouts of the type until I did some more research and got some inspiration and started experimenting more with the given images. 

I have learned a lot from this project. Such as how to use InDesign as I have never touched it before this project. While using InDesign I learnt how to use the overall software, such as setting up a page and grids for reference. Also how to correctly design layouts in magazines and how to balance text and image together. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and looking forward to the next one.

During the unit I also was engaging with activities outside of university. Such as going to the cinema to watch the Wes Anderson film on the French dispatch which was directed towards our project, this was helpful as I got a greater understanding on Wes Anderson and how much detail he uses in his films such as colour. I also participated in a letterpress induction which was very helpful and enjoyable.
