I believe this to be true because it is unfair to the victim and to society as a whole because it has allowed a known criminal to roam free without having served time for his crime which does not allow for a continuously safe environment for everyone. I also think that it is not justice for the victim and/or their family because not only do they have to live with what that person has done, they will also never have peace of mind. If you had intentions and thoughts to commit a crime before, the likelihood of a criminal doing it again especially if they are acquitted is very likely. Having a criminal roaming free can be very dangerous to the public. They have committed a crime before, so the likelihood that they will commit a crime again is very high. It is also very unfair to the victims, as well as the family of the victims because this person has ruined their lives, and in order to have closure and be able to move on, they need justice. Without this, the victim will constantly be living in fear, and it will be hard for them to find peace. If this person is able to go about their daily life without facing any consequences, then people will begin to lose faith in our justice system.
