Explanation: This poem relates to beneatha because it states perfectly everything that describes beneatha that i think was a very good poem for her. The reason is because it states that she doesnt need a man for anything and  that she knows that the only thing she needs to do is achieve her goals to become a doctor. Benatha has always had a soft spot for people but some she is yet powerful to faceany obstacle that  comes her way no matter what itis because she is a independent women.

Beneatha: i know - because thats what its says in all the novels that men write. But it isnt. go head and laugh- but im not interested in being someones little episode in america or - (with feminine vengeance) - one of them! 

Explanation: The reason why i chose this theme and quote was because beneatha is very feminine  is what people say about her skin color and race .
