A century ago it was rare to prove that a criminal was guilty. Most crimes were proved by eyewitnesses or some type of evidence. All the evidence was always their. The law enforcement back in the day just didn’t have all the science that we have today. For example “ we have powerful microscopes used for medical research’’ that's used to identify the fibers in car body, Or lasers that help scientists study the molecules to illuminate fingerprints. The most common fingerprints are Loops and Whorls, the less common are Achers. Now there is new machines that can prove it a suspect's is guilt or innocence. Forensics can also tell who you are. For example, like if a body has been discovered and all that remains is a skeletal, teeth and bones is mainly what the investigators have to identify the body. Teeth are perfect in ‘’ the battle of Bunker Hill, 140 colonists died and were buried in a mass grave. However a man of one family, Dr Joseph Warren wanted his body to be disinterred so he can be buried in his family plot. “

Sometimes forensics can indicate a dead victims age by the number of teeth in the victim's mouth. Also Forensics can evaluate ink for questioned document writings. Ink cannot only verify color it can also be verified by chemical makeup. Fir example a that was on his rookie year witnessed a woman coming in the station screaming saying she written a check to her boyfriend for thirty dollars. Later she found out that he cashed it, but somewhere between the time that she wrote the check and when he cashed it the amount changed to three thousands. She lied and said he added three extra zero’s but the woman changed it by trying to use the same color ink.

A lady used a ballpoint pen in black while he used a felt-tip in turquoise. Forensics examiners can also get a great deal of evidence from machines. There have been many of cases in which a specific typewriter that has been identified as the source. Ransom notes or any piece of hate mail because of its slight imperfections. In 1987 in the suburbs of Chicago, a woman claimed that she was getting threatening letters from a man across the street from her. The man denied leaving her letters. But the lady had history of making accusations, especially against black people in her community. The case was solved quickly with the notes written on an older-model typewriter
