First is financial problems. “the thief can gain access to your bank account and take money from you directly. This individual can also open up a credit card in your name, which can put you into debt without you even spending any of the money” (6). In addition,  is not keeping personal information personal. This is important not to do because this is an easy way for identity theft. 
 
There are several things one can do to protect their information in the future. First, keep your personal information secure. “Always know who you share your information with. Store and dispose of your personal information securely” (9). This can be like keeping your passwords private. “Use strong passwords with your laptop, credit, bank, and other accounts” (10). Another example is don’t overshare on social networks sites. “If you post too much information about yourself, an identity thief can find information about your life or use it to answer ‘challenge’ questions on your accounts” (10).
