researching is called "the mesosaurus fossil" this fossil was originally on one continent but was split into 2 countries (South America & South Africa) these two divergent countries split apart and boundary. divergent means that they spread apart. they spread apart and created a mid ocean ridge this is something that is made when a divergent plate is forming. this is formed in the middle from where the divergent started to spread. there can be volcanic activity at the mid ocean ridge or at the continents. there can also be earthquakes at these places. this was all found through gps's which
