Susan B was arrested for the crime of voting as a women. Women werent allowed to vote in the 1980's. She had went to trial and was later convicted.

The U.S became and industrial power. Inventions were made such as a telephone, dinamite, and a bessemer. Robber Barons olnly cared for money while Captains of industry wanted to make America a better place.

Many workers lived in row houses they were cramped living conditions. Immigrants lived in tenements-overcrowded and unsanitary houses. Most people remained poor and had to work.

1893-1917-Womens Sufferage

Women werent allowed to vote. One of the reasons they wanted to vote was to obey laws like men do. Membership in NAWSA (National American Woman Suffrage Association) grew from 13,150 in 1893.

In May 1787 twelve states were called to be at a meeting. The founding fathers would debate and compromise to make a new constitution. The U.S constitution included Seperation of Powers.

1861-Civil War

The civil started because of the election of Abraham Lincoln. The union strategy was to use its industrial strength, Blockade the South, & take Richmond. The confederate strategy was to play defense as long as possible and to obtain international support.
