Morover our children don't have the possibility to make many extracurricular experiences: public transport is almost non existent so only the kids whose parents have the possibilities can do other activities in the afternoon.

Until last year we had more primary school classes in structures from each village where we had 2 or 3 simultaneous classes at one teacher...it was very difficult, but since last year all the pupils are at the parent school and we have normal classes from 12 to 25 pupils and it is better. Unfortunately the school population the is decreasing because young people choose to go to the city. I joined this course to learn from my peers and to find new strategies for my personal and professional development. Thank you!

My name is Christos, and I teach History, the Greek language, and Latin at an upper secondary school in Tychero, Evros, Greece. My school is located in a rural area in northeastern Greece, near the Greek-Turkish border, at a significant distance from the urban centers of my country. It has only 31 students and a small number of teachers who are obliged to teach in neighboring schools as well. My colleagues and I are working to overcome the disadvantages related to the school's geographical isolation, and we have already participated in several eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects. I joined this course to expand my knowledge of the eTwinning platform, find partners from other rural schools all over Europe, and, of course, offer my students new educational experiences.

We involve families and the rest of the community a lot. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

I am happy to be here to learn and share my reality with whom has the same reality as I do.

I decided to join this course because I want to learn good practices to bring innovation to my classroom, transform the challenges of teaching in a rural area into opportunities and find partners from other rural schools.

My name is Marta Garcia. I teach in a secondary school in Cuellar (in the centre of Spain).

My school is a 15th century castle, so it's quite amazing to get to school everyday.

We have 458 students (350 from secondary and high school, 158 from VET).

We receive student from around the area (about 20km radius).

I'm Biology and Geology teacher. I'm glad to have a beautiful landscape so students can learn about nature close to their homes. I used to teach in Madrid and I can tell you that I won't change my rural school now.

We have started two years ago with Erasmus projects. We have visited Romania and this accademic year we will travel to Bulgaria.

We have hosted 3 Chech teachers from a small rural school in a job-shadowing and it was really interesting.

I work as a school librarian in two small rural schools in Croatia. Both schools have less than 200 students. They are located in a mountainous area, so in winter there are sometimes problems with getting to school. Despite this, schools have potential and modern teaching processes and projects take place in them.

I would like to exchange experiences to motivate my students.

I am a teacher of English at a small rural school on a border island.The total number of students is 70, 12-15 years old and the permanent teachers are ten.Attracting teachers to rural areas is a tough task, so sometimes we struggle to find staff.

I am a secondary school ESL teacher. I am currently teaching English in Lerma, Burgos, northern Spain. In my Highschool we are working together to give an international dimension to our curricular project. We work mainly with 12-18 students.

There are 295 students in this school which is in a village of 2500 inhabitants. My students come to school by bus as they live in the 12 neighbouring villages. We are located on the Atlantic Coast, so in the Summer there are plenty of services, people and activities, but once September starts there is nothing. All the shops and restaurants close until May. The closest town (9000 inhabitants) is 20 minutes away but there is no public transport to go there.

I am a kindergarden Teacher in a small village in central Greece. My school is very small, I have only 5 pupils 4 and 5 y.o. I would like to find ways to help my students get the most from their experience in the classroom. That's why I am here

My name is Rosa. I am a Primary teacher in a rural school in the North West of Spain. In my school there are about 300 students from 3 to 12 years old. Some of them come from other towns around. I teach to 9-10 years old students.

I grew up in a village and I went to rural school when I was a child too. I was working in schools in the city too but I love working in a rural school: students have more contact with the Nature!

I am very interested in this course because it’s great to meet other realities in the rural areas from Europe in order to build a new European reality together in our schools and to be stronger, transfroming our weaknessess into strenghts. So...thank you very much for the opportunity!!

I teach French as a foreign language in primary schools on a Greek island in the south Aegean. Because schools are relatively small to complement my schedule, I move to five schools during the week. Most teachers of specialties (music, theater, education, visual arts..) we are doing the same so that schools and students have truly equal opportunities. Insularity is an obstacle since it has several negative elements (especially in winter) and therefore it is not a first choice for many fellow teachers.. The island where I live and teach has two sides: in summer it attracts a large number of tourists and visitors where everything (shops, attractions...) is open and in winter there is a limit to what we can see and visit. Of course,we participate in various projects(local and european) but there are difficulties,most important of which is the transportation.. Nevertheless, living here(with the beautiful scenery, the sun and the sea) is great!

So, let's try to focus on this aspect!

I am the headteacher of a small rural school in the North of Greece,near Serres. There are 78 students in all school, ranging from 6-12 years old. We have 11 teachers,me included,who teach permanently in our school and 8 teachers who only visit the school once a week,making this an important problem.

My name is Ângela. I teach English in a Rural school near Vila do Conde, a city in the north of Portugal. I am willing to share my experiences and I am ready and opened to learn other colleagues' experiences. Last year I was awarded the national quality label with an eTwinning project with a Turkish school. It was an amazing experience! And now I am starting a new project!

I am Yvonne and I work as a PE and French teacher in the south of lower Saxony in the middle of Germany. Our school is a Gymnasium (secondary school) and our pupils are aged from 11-19 years. We have 800 pupils so our school seems to be big compared with the most of yours. We are situated in a very rural region. Nevertheless we have pupils from all over the world. Many pupils don't speak German or English very well, so they have difficulties to follow the lessons. We have a beautiful landscape but the infrastructure is not very well developped, so some pupils from the villages around our city take up to one hour to come to school and they arrive often 1 hour before the lessons begin. So they are very tired during the morning.

I work with eTwinning since 2021 and it's a great opportunity for our pupils. It's very difficult for us to find reliable partners because most of them are interested to work with partners of the bigger cities like Berlin, Munich or Hamburg.

I joined this course to learn how I can change our challenges into opportunities and to learn more about best-practice ideas.

I decided to join this course because I want to learn something new, see good practices and bring innovation in my classroom.
