IRIS is a very diverse community (much more than e.g. WLCG), most information is only applicable to a subset and sharing everything with everyone will just lead to information fatigue.

1A: there is the concern that too many communication channels will lead to information getting lost between platforms. If someone doesn't already engage, what will a new platform do differently? Perhaps the target should be focused communication channels, rather than diverse.

1C. Everyone know that security is important but communicating policy, expectations and procedures is important.

Not sure about the rest: For 1A we have a wide variety of communication channels - that's not the problem (if there is one). 1E is largely the same thing? 1D ... yes, want to foster innovation but the enabler for that is MONEY; is there any evidence that the culture is holding things back? And 1B? Well, everyone is aware of (environmental) sustainability. Of course, if IRIS plans to impose restrictions on people because of this, then it needs communicating.

Mapping & leveraging existing comms channels

There are a lot of existing comms channels and communication fatigue is an issue. So mapping what communication channels can be leveraged by IRIS, and asking the people who manage them if they are happy including your content (v short update with a website link to further information) could be one approach. e.g. existing newsletters, slack channels that certain segments already engage with regularly e.g. HPC-SIG, RSE-UK, astrolists@stfc.ac.uk. Having a mailing list of people/places to post information can be efficient once after the effort has been used to map the different channels.
