Theme: How the innovation of camera phone really helps people.

     Technology innovations nowadays have become more and more creative and sophisticated. One of the technologies where the innovation still hasn't stop is in camera phone (wired.co.uk). From simple to sophisticated, the innovation of camera phone has transformed remarkably to become one of the most used feature on mobile phone. Scanner and beautification features on camera phone can be the most helpful innovations that really help people.

     In today’s digital age, everything is transmitted into digital format. In the case of digital documentation which is very much related to document scanning, the scanner features on camera phones nowadays really help people to scan document fast and easy in high-quality. In addition, this feature also help the user to scan QR code or barcode to easily access any websites or getting any online information (urbandigital.id). This is a very effective innovation, the scanner feature on camera phone really put everything about scanning into more efficient ways, compared to the past condition where there was no scanner feature on camera phone, so people still had to go to the internet counter that has a scanner machine, which costs a lot more energy and money charge.

     Another awesome feature in the camera phone is Beautification. Beautification has become a special tool for creating such a beautiful pictures. This feature really helps people who are into photography to get some really great pictures using some various filters effects. With this feature, people does not have to use a real camera to get a good quality of pictures. They only need to use some camera effects to capture photos as they like. The camera effect also help to manage people to capture photos in many creative ways by using the great feature itself. This is a very helpful innovation, compared to the past when there was no camera effects in the old mobile phone, so people still need to buy a real camera or filters lens separately to capture pictures with bokeh, hdr, panorama, and many more effects. With this beautification feature, those common problems are just things in the past.

     The innovation of camera phone really helps people in lots of ways. There are many advanced features that have been provided which very helpful to people to put things to be more practical. As long as people using these features in a proper way, they will get much benefits and can be helped in their daily life.

Pessimism in my study.

Choosing English as my major in college is something that I am sure I will never regret. I was very optimistic that I will not find any big difficulties in my study. The fact that I like to read and analyze novel and poetry is also one of the reasons why I am sure that I will enjoy learning more about my study. But after I learnt some of the subjects, the hesitation is suddenly appears when it comes to learn linguistics. I find myself apparently not really good at it. I am afraid that I will not get the joy to study and won't be able to get a good score. I feel very pessimistic because of that.

It is always hard for me to analyze the structure of paragraphs. Sometimes, I find it very difficult to choose the main idea in the paragraph. I was never really quite sure about my answer, I tend to have a problem to choose which sentences are important and which are not. I really hate myself for that. Everytime I was asked to made a summary, I found it very confusing and I always thought that it is a hard work to put a very long article into some sentences only. I started to doubting myself and kept thinking that I am really stupiI. I feel like I always choose the wrong sentences and it still hard to find a way out. For me, it is not easy to explain my answer, I still keep learning to understand my lecturer and my friend's answer which always been the correct answers. 

I also find it difficult to develop and arrange sentences with no grammatical errors. My grammar skill is very bad, I have a problem to remembering the grammatical structure. Plus, it is always hard for me to find some words in my head. I need to read some texts first to get the inspiration and develop my ideas to put it into sentences. I pity myself a lot, at the moment when I saw some of my classmates in writing class, they were so great at exploring their minds, while I just sat looking at them and keep doubting my writing skills. It took me a bit longer than other students to finally finishing my works. I am really sad that I could not manage words in my head to put it into strong sentences as easy as I spill my feelings through poetry. 

However, even though I am still sad about my skill, I am also still sure that I will not regret my choice to study English. I have to make all the pessimism in my head to be a motivation in my study. I will keep learning more and follow my lecture guidance. After all, everything needs process. I just need to enjoy and do my best.

Negative effects of the Internet

Today's internet has become increasingly sophisticated. Anyone can access the internet without any much restrictions. From the older to the younger, all generations can access the internet very easily. Through the Internet, people can connect with each other to get and share lots of information. For me, as a young generation, I don't think I can live without the Internet. Internet really helps me to get many great information. However, I do realize that not all information on the Internet is all positive. There are also a lot of bad things happen on this vast global network, Twitter can be one of the platforms that gave rise to many of those things. 

Twitter can be a place of violation of the law. Twitter's feature, 'tweet' is able to make the users to share anything on their minds. People around the world can share a million of tweets to expresed their opinions. We do know not all opinions are good, some people on twitter also shared a lot of bad thoughts. I still remember one of the famous person in Indonesia, Ahmad Dhani, he was reported to the police for his hateful tweet on Twitter in 2017. That happened during the election period, he directed the tweet and hate speech against one of the group participated in the election. He was also exposed to Article 45 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 Year 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions. It is certainly unfortunate, I think people should be more concern about what they said, especially on the Internet. 

Twitter can also make someone feel threatened by the tweets. When everyone can share anything on their mind with a tweet, it also shows that anyone can be threatened by any tweets. People can easily judge anyone and feel judged by anyone. One case that can be used as an example is the case of The Vice President of Garuda Indonesia Cabin Crew. He felt threatened by several tweets from one Twitter user that allegedly defamed him. The tweets are known to mention Roni Eka, the Vice President as a pimp, those of course have not been proven right. Roni who felt threatened immediately reported the tweet author's account to the police. It is also certainly very unfortunate, I think people really need to be more aware of what they are doing, they need to be more careful about sharing information. We must examine the truth of a story before delivering it. There should be a lot more of evidence when sharing an information.

Internet is super wide. It can always be a dark place where people's ugliness is shown. I guess all those negativity from the Internet should just be a caution for us to be more vigilant and careful while surfing on the Internet, we need to be more aware of what we're gonna do, what we're gonna tweet. After all, it is not easy to erase the digital track record. We need to think before act, we shouldn't be careless.

Essay from the charts: British Emigration to Selected Destination - 2004-2007

The graph shows the number of British citizens who emigrated to five destinations during the period 2004 to 2007.  Apparently, there were significant differences of citizens' interest in the choice of destination to emigrate during that period of times.

The most popular destination to choose was Australia, which was reached more than 40,000 emigrants in 2004. Although it decreased slightly in the following year, the number back to increased until it peaked in 2016 with 52,000 emigrants. Then it fell back again around 10,000 in 2007. But of course it still remained much higher than the other four countries. The second most popular destination to choose was Spain, there were more than twenty thousand Britons who emigrated to this country each year. 

While the least popular destination were New Zealand and the US, only chosen by approximately 20,000 emigrants in whole period. There was a decrease in the number of Britons who emigrated to New Zealand each year. Likewise in the US, which experienced ups and downs, it had declined in 2005 with the fewest number which was only around 18,000 emigrant. It was very different from the achievements of other countries that year, especially with France which actually experienced a rapid increase. Although the following year showed a significant decrease until it ended at 18,000 became the least popular destination in 2007.
