September 18, 1931 Japan invaded Manchuria, China. Japan invaded Manchuria following the Mukden Incident, when rogue Japanese personnel tried to blow up a railway line owned by Japan's South Manchuria Railway. Japan accused China of the attempted attack so they invaded and occupied Manchuria.

September 1, 1939 Germany invades Poland in a Blitzkrieg. England and France then declare war on Germany starting the European War which will then turn into WWII.

8. Japan occupies Indochina

September 1940 Japanese troops start to occupy the French colony of Indochina to stop the Republic of China from importing arms and fuel. The U.S. was not happy with Japan at all so the responded by cutting off all oil exports to Japan, Japan not happy with the actions by the U.S. they began to secretly plan the Attack at Pear Harbor

10.Battle of Britain

July-October 1940 The Battle of Britain is the first major battle to ever be fought almost entirely in the air. During the battle the German's lost over 1,700 aircrafts and the British only lost about 900. The battle ended in defeat for the Nazi's making it their first major loss during the war.

September 27, 1940 Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, and Imperial Japan all sign a ten year agreement (tripartite pact) making the three countries allies so they can team up together and go against England and France. The pact was also seen as a warning for the U.S. to stop helping England and France.

January 1933 - May 1945 Hitler and his Nazis despised Jews and other races that didnt meet his criteria of "the perfect race". As Germany occupied more and more countries Jews were discriminated against and forced to live in Jewish Ghettos. Then they were forced into concentration camps where they were beaten, tortured, slaved, and killed. Throughout the Holocaust about a total of 11 million people were killed. After the war some concentration camps were liberated.

13. U.S. Lend-Lease

March 1941 U.S. President Roosevelt began the "lend lease" allowing the U.S. to send ammo and needed war supplies to England. By doing this the U.S. was no longer a neutral nation and was helping England, one of the enemies to the axis powers

December 7, 1941 Japanese planes left secretively to bomb Pearl Harbor, a naval base for u.s. navy ships. The Japanese attacked pear harbor to prevent the U.S. navy from interfering with their military actions in south east Asia and also out of spite because the US stopped sending them oil.

August 1945 After the bombing of Pearl Harbor the US wanted to get back at the Japanese, however the US had been experimenting with nuclear bombs so they decided to test it out on the Japanese. The bombing killed about 130,000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They still remain the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare history.
