I would identify the climax here when he writes "The Algernon-Gordon Effect" This is the most intense moment of the story because here he realizes that “Artifically increased intelligence deteriorates at a rate of time directly proportional to the quantity of the increase”. When his intelligence deteriorates we realize that his future will be tragic.

The climax would probably when Algernon dies. Before Algernon died, he was losing his intelligence everyday. I think this is the climax because after learning how Algernon died, Charlie noticed that it will happen to him too. He does lose his intelligence and shuts everyone out.

I believe that the climax of the story is when Charlie's intelligence is at its peak. I like to think that since the story revolves around his sudden increase then decrease of intelligence, it only makes sense that the peak of his intelligence would be the peak of the story before everything goes wrong and the story ends. The peak of his intelligence is also when he finds out that he eventually will lose his intelligence and die, which is a very large turning point in the story.

I think that the climax of the story is when Charlie figured out that he would die. That was when there was the most tension and suspense. We -the readers- realized that Charlie, a person who wanted nothing else but to be accepted by his peers and to prove himself to them, finally achieves his dream only to be slowly ripped away from the new life he has built. After this revelation, Charlie withdraws from the people who had cared for him. Even if they weren't exactly friends (Dr Strauss and Dr Nemur), they had a friendship that Charlie completely cut off. When Charlie begins to lose his intelligence, it becomes a turning point in the story. The later events accumulate into an uncertain conclusion: Charlie reverts to his previous mental state and leaves New York, determined that he won't upset his friends in a past that he can't remember.

I would consider the climax of the story was when Algernon died, the reason I think this is because since everything was foreshadowed by Algernon to Charlie, once Algernon died Charlie realized he would die as well. Adding on to this reason why this part is the Climax is also because this caused Charlie to separate from everyone that he cared about, such as Ms, Kinnian who he really loved and would always try to impress. But even he ended that relationship. This climax also affected the most change in the story and that is why it's the climax.

I consider the climax to be when Charlie reaches the peak of his intelligence and begins to deteriorate, around the time he writes the paper on the "Algernon-Gordon Effect" and realizes he will suffer the same fate as Algernon. The story revolves around Charlie's intelligence, and when it begins to recede back to what it was before, it acts as a falling action, like his falling IQ. This corresponds with the paper being written around the peak of his IQ, making it the climax, or realization that Charlie's condition will continue to worsen.

I believe the climax is the ending of the story when Charlie realizes his final demise. He says good-bye to everyone in his final "progris riport" and to me, this overwhelming feeling of dread isn't found anywhere else in the story. Although yes, Algernon did die, the way Charlie presented it was very underwhelming. It was a single sentence, and what follows afterwards didn't give me as much dread as the ending of the story. Although there might not be room for a falling action and certain conclusion or resolution to the story, the imagination of our minds can picture multiple outcomes of what might happen.

Since most we knew this would happen before he did, there was kind of a feeling of anticipation for him to discover what's to come. I feel like there is also lots of emotion. You can also argue the climax is when Algernon passes but Charlie is the main character after all.

From the beginning of the story, it's always shown that Charlie wanted to be smart, so the idea of an experiment to make him smarter was most likely meant to give more anticipation for the rest of the story. Then, once he receives his shot, him getting smarter is a part of the rising action that leads to the climax, when he reaches his peak IQ.

He then realized that he is going to die which is the biggest event in the story. When his intelligence starts to decrease and he slowly becomes dumber this is the falling action and the events before this is the rising action which is why when he realizes that he is going to die is the climax of the story. When he realizes he is going to die because the Algernon-Gordon effect was causing him to eventually die, this effected the entire story afterwards.

I believe that the climax is when Charlie begins to lose his intelligence. Since he had wanted to become smart and finally did. The readers realize that he slowly goes back to the way he once was. He had gained what he wanted only to have taken away again. He beings to panic as he realizes he's going back too. This adds to the story because the readers don't want him to go back to the way he was.His mind begins to deteriorate just as Algernons did and in the end he ends up leaving.

I believe that the climax is when Charlie finds out that he would end up like Algernon. Charlie ended up getting the procedure done and he was finally what people would deem as smart or intelligent. What was wanted was finally achieved. However, things started escalating when Algernon started acting differently and eventually died. Charlie then did research and came to the conclusion that he would end up like Algernon in which after, his behavior started changing and his mental capacity and ability started deteriorating. What he wanted, which he thought he had achieved, was completely destroyed and the moment he finds out is suspenseful and shocking.

The climax of the story, "Flowers For Algernon," is when Charlie Gordon is at his most intelligent self. A story's climax is foreshadowed throughout the rest of the story. The climax is the most intense part of the story and is when the protagonist experiences the most crisis. When Charlie is at his smartest, he experiences the most emotion and realizes how he is destined for mental deterioration. Furthermore the events after Charlie is at his smartest all display the characteristics of a falling action. Charlie is driven to madness and his intelligence begins to lower and suffer which would all be results of the climax.

I believe that the climax of Flowers for Algernon was when Algernon died. This is a point where not only the audience but Charlie himself realize that Algernon's life, and death, has been foreshadowing what will happen to Charlie. In the entry before Algernon dies, Charlie talks about his hypothesis on Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss's surgery. He states, "Artifically increased intelligence deteriorates at a rate of time directly proportional to the quantity of the increase." In simpler words, Charlie is saying that the intelligence that Charlie and Algernon gained from the surgery will go away just as fast as they got it. The fact that Algernon died comes as a depressing shock to Charlie and the audience, he even logs that he becomes absent-minded, and his mind has begun deteriorating. This is the moment of climax because this is the peak of Charlie's intelligence before it starts to go away.

I think that the climax is when Algernon died. In the story, everything that happens to Algernon has happened to Charlie. Just as Algernon had become smart, Charlie became smart. He knew that as Algernon started to become more violent and didn't eat, that the same thing was going to happen to him. When Algernon died, he probably knew that the same was going to happen to him

I believe that the climax in Flowers For Algernon happened when Algernon bit Charlie and started his mental deterioration. This series of events lead the newly intelligent Charlie to write the paper called "the Algernon-Gordon effect" where he came to the realization that soon he would begin his mental deterioration soon as well. This realization drove almost all of his actions after this event. The climax happened on page 16 through 19

The climax of "Flowers for Algernon" is found in his progress reports of June 10 through June 21, after Charlie publishes his paper, "The Algernon-Gordon Effect", and is left to process what will happen to him. In those moments, he still has enough intelligence to predict the pain and emotional struggle that awaits him and enough knowledge to recognize the symptoms as it begins. Charlie's journal, usually a place for him to transcript the events of his day, with the addition of some simple reflections, captures his intense emotions from the conflict. "Now that it's definite, I don't want it to happen." he writes, "I put Algernon's body in a cheese box and buried it in the backyard. I cried." A week and a half later he is still in this state. "It's so cruelly logical...I won't let it happen. I'll fight it. I can't help thinking of that boy in the restaurant, the blank expression, the silly smile, the people laughing at him. No—please—not that again..." he writes. The difference between these reports and his usual state mark this as the most intense moment in the story, the climax.

I believe the climax of Flowers for Algernon is when Algernon dies. This is because when he died, Charlie realized he was going to die as well. The title of the story foreshadows his death because when someone dies, typically, you give them flowers. The falling action after the climax is all the event leading up to Charlie's death. The rising action is when Algernon starts refusing food and won't race.

I think that the climax of the story is when Algernon dies. Charlie writes the "Algernon-Gordon Effect", which states that artificially increased intellegence at a rate of time similar to the quantity of the increase. Charlie then notices that his own behavior is reflecting Algernon's behavior. Basically, whatever happens to Algernon will happen to Charlie some point in the future. Algernon's death can help us infer that Charlie will also soon die, and it has a great impact on Charlie's life. Therefore, the climax is when Algernon dies, since it foreshadows what's going to soon happen to Charlie, and creates a lot of tension.
